Curling Irons

Have you ever walked outside and had a group of your neighbours together doing their hair right out in the open? Curling irons and all. And it's not just for the ladies, one of the guards was curling his hair too. It was quite funny seeing a set up hair salon right on my road. We could have gotten our hair cut. Too bad we had school. Life here is always full of interesting things. Did I ever tell you I saw a guy holding a car door on a motorcycle? Or the time I saw a lady sitting backwards on a motorcycle holding on to a big trailer behind her? Flip- Flops are the national shoe(at least that's what we think) whether you are on a construction site pouring cement or riding a motorcycle. To order food without rice you say "gap cow" (low tone- falling tone)which literally is translated "with rice." And so many more things... Life here is so different. It just reminds us of how creative God is.

  • Dear Amber and Amanda,

Well, life is certainly not boring there. Apparently the unexpected can be waiting right outside your door!
Praying God's peace, love, strength, and perseverance over you today. You are daily in our thoughts and prayers.

    Blessings, Jan
